The Bureau of Justice Assitance (BJA), which is part of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), launched the Strategies for Policing Innovation program in FY 2009 to help law enforcement agencies and researchers test evidence-based, data-driven law enforcement tactics and strategies that are effective, efficient, and economical. Fourty-eight agencies and research partners have been funded by BJA for 59 SPI projects. An overview of all funded SPIs can be viewed here.
